Sets the values for the WEP keys. The wireless Intermec computer can receive a WEP encryption that uses any of four WEP keys. The WEP keys must appear in the same order on both the access point and the wireless Intermec computer.
WEP 64 has four 40-bit encryption keys and one 24-bit initialization vector (IV) key. For WEP 64, you enter 5 ASCII characters, printable or non-printable, or 5 hex pairs for the key. WEP 128 provides a higher level of security and has four 104-bit encryption keys and one 24-bit IV key. For WEP 128, you enter 13 ASCII characters, printable or non-printable, or 13 hex pairs for the key.
If you enter more than or fewer than the required number of ASCII characters or hex pairs, the key is not saved.
Acceptable values for Network Key Value are 5 or 13 ASCII characters or 5 or 13 hex pairs preceded by 0x. If you use hex pairs, you must enter these characters before you enter multiple values for data:
0xnn
where nn represents the hexadecimal values of the non-printable characters.
Before you can enter Network Key Values, you must set the Network Key Setting to Enter Key and Index.
